Italian Version
Ritengo che settembre sia il mese dei nuovi inizi, molto più di gennaio dal mio punto di vista: la pausa estiva mi ha permesso di guardarmi intorno e collezionare nuove idee per nuovi progetti che sicuramente vedrete a breve, ma anche di riorganizzare il materiale per la ripresa delle attività. Grazie a questo ho realizzato di non aver mai parlato con voi della mia Bridal collection nello specifico, pur essendo sicuramente la linea su cui ricevo più feedback da parte vostra.
Oggi sono qui proprio per raccontarvi della scintilla che ha dato inizio a questa collezione, la quale viene dalla vita quotidiana nella mia boutique a Milano: mi sono accorta di come tutte le donne che entravano nel mio mondo fossero alla ricerca di un abito che le facesse sentire eleganti e raffinate, che rendesse il loro stile ricercato, ma soprattutto unico e rivoluzionario. Quindi perché non tentare di rivoluzionare anche lo stile degli abiti da sposa?
Ammetto di aver riflettuto molto sull’iniziare o meno questo progetto, perché, specialmente in Italia, il matrimonio è visto in un’ottica molto tradizionalista e questo si riflette anche nella scelta dell’abito per gli sposi.
Ormai, però, la mia mente era già piena di bozzetti e non ho potuto esimermi dal realizzarli, a cui volevo dar vita con l’obiettivo di permettere alle mie care Spose di innamorarsi del proprio abito con la stessa intensità con cui si sono innamorate della persona a cui diranno in fatidico “sì, lo voglio”.
I miei abiti da sposa sono molto differenti tra di loro: ognuno di essi è indirizzato ad un tipo diverso di donna.
Essi, inoltre, si prestano anche ad essere realizzati in differenti tonalità dal tradizionale bianco puro.
Se date un’occhiata nella sezione “Bride” del mio sito web, noterete di certo abiti neri come CLORI, ZAHRA e SONAM che, pur essendo di un colore agli antipodi rispetto a quello usuale, ritengo permettano a molte donne di guardare ad essi come all’ “abito dei loro sogni”.
Naturalmente non mancano abiti più principeschi e romantici come AFEF, un lungo abito in seta delineato dallo scollo a V presente sul retro e reso particolare dalle maniche leggiadre e dai fiori dipinti a mano con una modalità di realizzazione risalente alle antiche tecniche del diciannovesimo secolo ed impreziositi da cristalli Swarovski;
ASTRID, un abito a stile impero, leggiadro, creato con l’intenzione di richiamare un’atmosfera sognante; oppure SOL, un lungo abito voluminoso, ricco di movimento, che si ispira alla Kintsugi painting (una tecnica asiatica che valorizza la bellezza delle imperfezioni e delle ferite, da cui può nascere una forma ancora maggiore di perfezione estetica e interiore).
Ma, di certo, guardando il lookbook della mia collezione bridal, risaltano abiti più particolari come CORDELIA, NAOMI e ZAHRA, creati per sottolineare la bellezza e la sensualità del corpo femminile, oppure come AMEERA e MEGAN, che nascono dalla volontà di accompagnare nella scelta dell’abito quelle donne che vogliono distaccarsi dalla tradizionalità, scegliendo di vivere il loro giorno più bello indossando un tailleur.
Ritenendo, inoltre, che in un giorno così magico ed importante tutto debba essere perfetto e curato nei minimi dettagli, ho prestato molta attenzione anche all’abbinamento degli accessori, introducendo nella mia linea preziosi guanti in seta, corone di fiori e turbanti: tutto rigorosamente progettato e realizzato a mano, utilizzando esclusivamente materiali di prima qualità e tecniche che permettono di osservare con i propri occhi come ogni pezzo appartenente alla maison GRETEL Z. sia realizzato con il fine di compiacere la donna che lo indossa, permettendole di sentirsi a proprio agio senza, per nessuna ragione, rinunciare a comunicare la propria personalità attraverso il suo vestiario.
Anche la scelta di denominare questi abiti con nomi di donne provenienti da culture più disparate non è casuale, ma sta proprio ad indicare la volontà di rendere i miei abiti adatti a valorizzare le differenti bellezze femminili.
La realizzazione di questo progetto è stata sicuramente uno step indimenticabile del mio percorso lavorativo, che mi ha lasciato ricordi indelebili di ogni momento che lo riguarda: partendo dall’idea, passando per il momento in cui ho potuto visionare i capi per la prima volta, fino al servizio fotografico per la creazione del lookbook.
Per questo motivo, terrei molto a sapere da voi, cari lettori, quale sia l’abito da sposa firmato GRETEL Z. in cui vi rispecchiate maggiormente oppure come immaginereste un abito GRETEL Z. creato appositamente per voi.

I believe that September is the month of new beginnings, much more than January from my point of view: the summer break has allowed me to look around and collect new ideas for new projects that you will surely see soon, but also to reorganize the material for the resumption of activities. Thanks to this I realized that I have never talked to you about my Bridal collection specifically, although it is certainly the line on which I receive the most feedback from you.
Today I'm here just to tell you about the spark that started this collection, which comes from everyday life in my boutique in Milan: I realized how all the women who entered into my world were looking for a dress that made them feel elegant and refined, which would make their style refined, but above all unique and revolutionary. So why shouldn’t I had tried to revolutionize the style of wedding dresses too?
I admit that I have thought a lot about starting this project or not, because, especially in Italy, marriage is seen from a very traditionalist point of view and this is also reflected in the choice of dress for the couple. By then, however, my mind was already full of sketches and I could not refrain myself from turning them into real paper patterns, which I wanted to create with the aim of allowing my dear women to fall in love with their wedding dress with the same intensity with whom they fell in love with the person to whom they will say in fateful "yes, I do". My wedding dresses are very different from each other: each of them is aimed at a different type of woman.
Furthermore, they also lend themselves to being made with colors other than the traditional pure white. If you take a look in the "Bride" section of my website, in fact, you will certainly notice black dresses like CLORI, ZAHRA and SONAM which, despite being of an opposite color to the usual one, I believe allow many women to look at they come to the "dress of their dreams".
Of course there is no lack of more princely and romantic dresses such as AFEF, a long silk dress outlined by the V-neck on the back and made special by the light sleeves and hand-painted flowers with a method of realization inspired by nineteenth century techniques and embellished with crystals. Swarovski; ASTRID, which is a very soft empire-style dress created with the intention of recalling a dreamy atmosphere; or, again, like SOL, a long, very voluminous dress inspired by Kintsugi painting (an Asian technique that enhances the beauty of imperfections and wounds, from which an even greater form of aesthetic and interior perfection can be born). But, of course, looking at the lookbook of my bridal collection, more particular dresses stand out such as CORDELIA, NAOMI and ZAHRA, created to emphasize the beauty and sensuality of the female body, or like AMEERA and MEGAN, which arise from the desire to accompany in the choice of the dress those women who want to break away from traditionalism, choosing to live their most beautiful day wearing pants.
Believing, moreover, that in such a magical and important day everything must be perfect and with attention to the smallest details, I also paid a lot of attention to the combination of accessories with clothes, introducing in my line precious silk gloves, flower crowns and turbans: all rigorously designed and handmade, using only top quality materials and techniques that allow you to observe with your own eyes how each piece belonging to the GRETEL Z. maison is made with the aim of pleasing the woman who wears it, allowing her to feel at ease without, for any reason, renouncing to communicate his personality through his clothing.
Even the choice of naming these dresses with names of women from the most disparate cultures is not accidental, but indicates the desire to make my clothes suitable for enhancing the different female beauties. In short, the realization of this project was certainly an unforgettable step in my career, which left me indelible memories of every moment that concerns him: starting from the idea, passing through the moment when I saw the clothes in "physical version” for the first time and up to the photo shoot for the creation of the lookbook.
